Jun You, an associate professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Materials Science and Engineering, Hubei University. Graduated with a bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Wuhan University in July 2010, followed by a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Wuhan University in July 2015 under the guidance of Professor Jinping Zhou. Worked at the Qingdao Institute of Bioenergy and Bioprocess Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, from August 2015 to March 2019, attaining the position of associate researcher. Joined Hubei University as an associate professor in April 2019. His research interests include the nanomaterials and functionalization of natural polymers such as cellulose, chitosan, and silk, as well as polymer hydrogels/aerogels and biodegradable natural polymer membrane materials. Currently, he is actively involved in the development of innovative methods for extracting high-value biomass nanomaterials from agricultural waste sources such as straw, shrimp and crab shells, and silkworm cocoons, with the aim of establishing energy-efficient and scalable extraction processes. He has authored or co-authored 26 SCI papers and holds three patents. He has secured funding from the National Natural Science Foundation of China for both general and youth projects. In recognition of his academic achievements, he was honored as a recipient of the "Chutian Scholar Program" and "Chutian Scholar" in Hubei Province in 2018. Additionally, in 2021, he received the Second Prize in Natural Science from the Shandong Provincial Government.
